Seat choice in the aircraft

A chargeable service «Seat choice in the aircraft» gives a passenger right (not earlier than 2 hours before departure) to choose a seat in rows with wide passages near the emergency exits in economy class (excluding seats before the rows near emergency exits) while checking-in. The charge is 700 rubles (incl. VAT) and MCO is issued, which confirms the payment for the service.

Due to technical characteristics of each aircraft, the quantity of seats near the emergency exits and their arrangement on board may vary. Seat arrangement scheme is available at ORENAIR website or can be provided by the airline representatives.

For safety purposes certain restrictions are imposed on the use of this offer by the following passenger categories:

  • passengers with reduced mobility (PRM) as well as passengers who cannot assist the crew in case of emergency when it’s necessary to open an emergency exit;
  • PRM including passengers who need an extra seating belt during the flight;
  • aged (over 70) and sick passengers including those who require portable oxygen equipment during the flight;
  • passengers who are substantially blind or substantially deaf (using glasses, hearing devices) or with substantial speech impediment;
  • passengers under 18;
  • passengers with little children or infants;
  • pregnant women;
  • deportees or prisoners in custody;
  • passengers with animals in the hand baggage;
  • passengers not speaking Russian and/or English.

Passengers who use the offer «Seat choice in the aircraft» should place their cabin baggage only in the special baggage compartments.

A passenger should inform the agent at the check-in desk if he wants to use the offer. While registering the agent offers the passenger to pay for the service at the booking office.

When a passenger returns from the booking office, service at the check-in desk is done out of turn upon presenting the MCO by a passenger that he received at the booking office when paying for the offer. Whereas a passenger MCO is not withdrawn.

Refund for the offer «Seat choice in the aircraft»:

  1. Involuntary refund for the offer «Seat choice in the aircraft» is done in case of involuntary refuse of the passenger from the carriage according to ORENAIR rules and article 227 of the Federal Aviation Regulations «General rules for carriage of passengers, baggage and cargo and requirements for the service of passengers, consignors, consignees», accepted by the RF Ministry of Transportation order from 28.06.2007 № 82 (hereafter – FAR № 82), in case of unilateral termination of the passenger air carriage agreement by ORENAIR in accordance with the article 230 FAR № 82 (except for the case of unilateral termination of the air carriage agreement on the ground of p. 6 article 230 FAR № 82, wherein money paid for the offer are not refunded to the passenger), as well as in cases of inability of rendering of services according to the following reasons:
    • in case of operational change of the aircraft;
    • in case of operational flight cancellation;
    • in case of relocation of the passenger from the seat near the emergency exit to another one for aviation safety reasons;
    • due to other reasons which affect the aviation safety according to airline’s representative or the crew.
  1. In cases stated in p. 1, airline’s representative at the departure airport or a cabin attendant on board the aircraft (which depends on the moment a passenger applied for the mark about impossibility of providing the offer), makes a respective note on MCO. Money refund to the passenger is done in full on presenting the original MCO at the place the offer «Seat choice in the aircraft» was issued. The MCO is withdrawn by the ticket sales agent at the moment of money refund to the passenger. In case of passenger apply for a relevant note about refund after he boarded the aircraft – money is refunded on the ground of signed original of «Application for refund for the offer «Seat choice in the aircraft» (PDF document, 170 Kb) and original MCO with the note made by airline staff about the reason of refund, within 2 month after passenger’s apply according to the results of the executed check (required documents should be sent to the postal address of the airline: Department of Organization of Sales Air Transportation, ORENAIR, Airport, Orenburg District, Orenburg Region, 460049).
  2. If a passenger didn’t use a paid offer «Seat choice in the aircraft» because of the voluntary refusal from the carriage (article 229 FAR №82), airline’s representative at the departure airport makes a respective note on the passenger’s MCO. Money is refunded to the passenger in full at the place the offer «Seat choice in the aircraft» was issued on presenting by a passenger the original MCO with respective note, which is withdrawn by the ticket sales agent at the moment of money refund to the passenger.
  3. Money refund is done within the period of MCO validity (1 year from the issuing date).

ORENAIR reserves the right to change the rules applied to the offer «Seat choice in the aircraft» any time without notice.

  1. Article 227 Involuntary denied transportation is due to:
    • cancellation or delay of the flight, specified in the ticket;
    • changes in the transportation route;
    • failure to operate a flight reasonably according to the schedule;
    • failure of the passenger transportation due to impossibility to provide a space on the flight for the date, specified in the ticket;
    • failure of the passenger transportation, caused by the passenger’s delay at the airport because of long-lasting inspection provided that no prohibited items or substances were found during baggage or personal inspection of the passenger;
    • failure to provide flight connection in case of single carriage performance;
    • sudden disease of a passenger or disease/death of his family member (should be confirmed by medical documents) if they are flying together on the same flight;
    • failure to provide a class of service, specified in the ticket;
    • improperly executed ticket, issued by the carrier or its authorized agent.
  1. Article 230 Carrier may terminate air carriage agreement of the passenger and air carriage agreement of the cargo in the unilateral manner in the following cases
    • Violation of passport, customs, sanitary and other requirements established by the laws of the Russian Federation by the passenger, cargo owner or consignor in the part relating to the air carriage, in international air carriage also by the rules determined by the appropriate authorities of the state of departure, destination or transit.
    • Refusal of a passenger, cargo owner and consignor to fulfill requirements of Federal Aviation Regulations.
    • If the health of the aircraft passenger requires special conditions of carriage or threatens the safety of the passenger or other people which shall be confirmed by medical documents and equally makes disorder and creates unavoidable inconveniences for other persons.
    • Refusal of a passenger to pay carriage of his own baggage whose weight is in excess of free baggage allowance.
    • Refusal of a passenger to pay the carriage of the child travelling with him except for the cases when a passenger has a right for free, in case of international air transportation – according to the low fare, carriage of one child under 2 years old without providing him with a separate seat. Children under 2 years old as well as children from 2 to 12 are carried according to the low fare providing them with separate seats.
    • Violation of the rules of behavior on board the aircraft by the passenger endangering flight safety or life/health of other people as well as ignoring the instructions of the captain of the aircraft by the passenger in compliance with Article 58 of the Air Code of the Russian Federation.
    • Presence of prohibited things or substances in the passengers’ items as well as in the baggage or cargo.
